Day 5 - Torres del Paine National Park
Embark on four full days of thrilling exploration in the World Biosphere Reserve of remote, rugged and windswept Torres del Paine National Park. Choose from the myriad ways available from your lodge — by vehicle, boat, horseback or on foot — to discover the area's magnificent beauty, with activity levels ranging from moderate challenges to expert-level adventures. Perhaps begin one day riding horseback across the Serrano Plain, and then drive to Lago Grey for a short walk along Lagoon Beach and the opportunity to photograph icebergs from shore. You may follow that with a boat excursion for a closer examination of these icy marvels and the glaciers that share the landscape. After lunch on the beach, opt for a brisk hike or horseback ride through the park for an in-depth look at local flora and fauna, or gather around a campfire with some authentic gauchos. If you prefer, set off along hiking trails to acquaint yourself with the snowy peaks, turquoise lakes and rugged slopes of this exhilarating wilderness. Take in panoramic views of waterfalls and forests, cross the river by rowboat to hike the French Valley flanked by snow-capped glaciers, or hop on a mountain bike for a trip along the Blue Lagoon. Ask your guides to help you select the activities best suited to your interests and savor experiences that are truly unforgettable.
Day 7 - Santiago
Fly back to Santiago, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of this — and the next — day at leisure, exploring this leafy, cosmopolitan city and its distinct neighborhoods, grand architecture and picturesque hillside parks. Simply step outside your hotel to experience Santiago's vibrant Barrio Lastarria firsthand, soaking in the area’s rich blend of culture and history, listening to street musicians and sampling local dishes at lively cafés. And take advantage of the city’s excellent transport links to visit other points of interest, such as the nearby Metro Universidad Católica and numerous fine museums and restaurants.
