ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive Johannesburg, South Africa
Arrive in Johannesburg, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. Set just nine miles outside of Johannesburg, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa is nestled in a lush, park-like setting among mature trees and rich bird life. Enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 2 - Okavango Delta, Botswana
Fly to Maun, Botswana, transferring on arrival by light aircraft to the Okavango Delta, widely acknowledged as the “Predator Capital of the World.” This area offers some of the most exciting game viewing in Africa and is one of the best places in Botswana to see the country’s Big Five — lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and Cape buffalo. Upon landing, transfer by private vehicle to Sanctuary Chief’s Camp. For the next three nights you enjoy your stay in the secluded, ultra-luxurious Geoffrey Kent Suite. After settling into your suite, set out on an afternoon game drive.

Day 3 - Okavango Delta
Rise early and explore the reserve on a game drive where elephants, buffalo and impalas, as well as lions and other predators, roam free. After returning to camp for lunch and some time at leisure, set out on an afternoon safari to marvel at the incredible wildlife. Learn how this unique inland delta does not flood during the rainy season and how termites played a role in the formation of its islands, preventing it from becoming one vast lake.

Day 4 - Okavango Delta
Enjoy another full day in this magnificent setting. In addition to game drives, perhaps embark on a seasonal mokoro (dugout canoe) ride, gliding quietly through tranquil delta waters, observing the aquatic residents large and small, from frogs to hippos.

Day 5 - Cape Town, South Africa
Return to Maun by light aircraft and board your flight to Cape Town, a breathtaking harbor city where history, architecture and cultural pursuits converge. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, the balance of the day and evening are at your leisure to explore Cape Town at your own pace.

Day 6 - Cape Town
Begin a morning tour of the city as you drive by the tranquil Company Gardens, once owned by the Dutch East India, Company, where notable buildings including the Houses of Parliament, the Tuynhuis Cape Town's White House), National Art Gallery and National Library are found. Also, visit the Castle of Good Hope, built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company. Enjoy the opportunity to visit the District Six Museum, which chronicles one of the darker episodes in Cape Town's apartheid past in a poignant yet ultimately uplifting way. Return to your hotel for the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7 - Cape Town
Discover Cape Point, the mountainous and scenic promontory at the southwestern tip of the continent. Journey past the “bikini beaches” at the base of the towering Twelve Apostles Mountain Range, along bucolic Hout Bay with its bustling fishing harbor and over Chapman’s Peak Drive. Explore the stunning Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to rare bonteboks, chacma baboons and several endemic plant species not found elsewhere. Ride the Flying Dutchman funicular to the great pinnacle at blustery Cape Point, which presides over treacherous reefs and sandy beaches. At Boulders Beach, visit its colony of endangered African penguins; accustomed to humans, they provide endless photo opportunities. Enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure, enjoying your hotel, exploring the city’s harbor front and boutique shops, or dining in one of Cape Town’s world-class restaurants.

Day 8 - Depart Cape Town
After breakfast, privately transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
