About The Port Of San Juan
San Juan, the historic capital of Puerto Rico and the oldest European-founded city in the Americas, greets arrivals with a skyline of colonial ramparts and pastel façades. The imposing walls of El Morro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stand guard over the harbor entrance, while the narrow streets of Old San Juan unfold with blue cobblestones, balconied townhouses, and shaded plazas that recall centuries of Spanish colonial history.
Many ships dock within walking distance of Old San Juan, making it easy to explore the fortress walls, cathedrals, and boutiques on foot before returning to the pier. Beyond the old town, the wider city blends modern Caribbean energy with tropical beaches and a lively culinary scene. As a common embarkation and disembarkation point for regional voyages, San Juan offers a fitting bookend to any Caribbean journey, rich in both convenience and character.
