We arrive in the Portuguese capital and transfer to our hotel. As guests’ arrival times vary, we have no group activities planned during the day. Tonight we enjoy a welcome dinner.

We discover the Portuguese capital on a morning tour of the city; the afternoon is free for independent exploration.

Leaving Lisbon, we head north, stopping in the small fortified town of Obidos and in the seaside village of Nazaré. Early this evening we reach our pousada in lovely Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city and a UNESCO site.

Highlights of our city tour today include the historic city center, Baroque Clerigos Church, and the sophisticated Foz oceanfront district. Afterwards, we enjoy an hour-long cruise on the Douro River. Our tour ends with a visit to a Port lodge for a tasting of the fortified wine exclusive to the region.

En route to Santiago, we stop in the old Galician town of Pontevedra. We continue on to Santiago, capital of Spain’s northwest Galicia region, arriving mid-afternoon at our parador, where we dine tonight.

The last stop on the celebrated pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) and presumed repository of the remains of St. James the Apostle, Santiago de Comp­ostela ranks among Spain’s most beautiful and visited cities. Today we stop in the elegant port city and Cantabrian capital of Santander for a tour and lunch. Then we travel on to Bilbao, the industrial port city almost magically transformed by the construction of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in 1997.

This morning’s tour begins in Bilbao’s medieval Old City, with its charming mix of narrow cobblestone streets and inviting squares. A day-long excursion takes us through countryside historically home to the Basque people of Spain’s Atlantic Coast and western Pyrenees. We travel today to the Pyrenees town of Bielsa, stopping en route in fabled Pamplona, known for its annual Encierro – better known as the Running of the Bulls.

Fresh mountain air and stunning scenery are on tap as we explore the spectacular landscapes surrounding Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Touring by coach and on foot, we experience the dramatic limestone Pyrenees, lush valleys dotted with crystal-clear streams, and forests of beech, fir, and pine.

We travel today by coach to the world-class city of Barcelona, arriving in the late afternoon. We then have some time to explore before dinner on our own in this most gastronomic of cities.

This morning we pay homage to Barcelona’s native, son, Antoni Gaudí, as we tour the landmark Sagrada Familia. After a walking tour of the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter), a maze of medieval streets, squares and mansions, we enjoy a tapas lunch together. We are free for the rest of the day to explore Barcelona as we wish.

Today we begin with a walk through Gaudí’s fanciful Parc Guell. Then we take a paella cooking class to learn how to prepare one of Spain’s most well-known dishes, and enjoy the fruits of our labor at a farewell lunch. Sitting in a low-slung notch, Zermatt is surrounded on all sides by towering slopes. We get a unique view of the spectacular scenery this morning as we ride the Gornergratbahn, to the summit of the Gornergrat. We travel by coach today through more superb Swiss scenery and cross into northern Italy via the legendary Simplon Pass through the Alps. Late this morning we arrive in Stresa, Italy, along the shores of lovely Lake Maggiore, where we have time to explore and enjoy lunch on our own. Then we drive back into Switzerland and arrive at our hotel in lakeside Lugano.

This morning, we travel to medieval Bellinzona with its three feudal castles, all UNESCO sites. Here, we visit Castelgrande, the iconic central castle where we explore the ramparts and expansive grounds. Then we enjoy regional fare as we lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, we explore Ascona on the shores of Lake Maggiore. We take a walking tour of this charming town known for its pastel lakefront façades and an early 20th-century artists’ colony.

This morning, we board a motorboat for a private half-day cruise around Lake Lugano. We put ashore at Morcote, a town barely a mile square whose cobbled streets, terraced gardens, and Mediterranean charm led Swiss citizens in 2016 to name it the nation’s loveliest village. After lunch together and time to explore, we return to Lugano and in the late afternoon enjoy a winery tour and tasting.

Leaving the Lake District today, we’re bound for Austria by way of the tiny sovereign nation of Liechtenstein. We travel north to Liechtenstein, reaching the country’s capital of Vaduz, where we have free time to explore and have lunch on our own. We continue on to Austria, reaching our hotel in the mountain village of Seefeld early this evening. We dine together tonight at a local restaurant.

This morning, we coach to nearby Innsbruck, host of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. A walking tour highlights the postcard-worthy sights, including the many pedestrian squares surrounded by pastel-colored façades. Then we take a cable car to a lookout in the Nordkette, the “mountain at the heart of Innsbruck,” where we enjoy panoramic views of the city and the surrounding Alps. We have time on our own in Innsbruck before we return to Seefeld.

Today, we travel through Tyrol, a crossroads of Western Europe, en route to Salzburg. We stop to visit the Museum of Tyrolean Farms, an interactive outdoor exhibit featuring dozens of preserved farmhouses dating from the 15th century onwards. Then we continue on to Salzburg, Austria’s riverside jewel and city of Mozart and The Sound of Music. Following dinner together, we attend a classical music concert in the Marble Room of famed Mirabell Palace.

Our walking tour this morning features the geometrically-styled Mirabell Gardens, dating to the 17th century; the Baroque Old Town, now a UNESCO site; and visits to Salzburg Cathedral and medieval Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of Europe’s largest and best-preserved castles. Then the remainder of the day is free for independent exploration.

We travel today to the Bavarian resort town of Berchtesgaden, site of the clifftop Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle’s Nest), the Nazi Party’s alpine retreat. Arriving by the original 1930s brass elevator, we tour the chalet where Hitler paid multiple visits before it was captured by the Allies in the closing days of WWII. In the event Eagle’s Nest is closed because of unseasonal weather, we’ll visit the nearby Berchtesgaden Salt Mine, which has operated continuously for more than 500 years. Then we return…

Today’s excursion takes us to Cape Sounion, where we explore the ruins of the ancient Greek Temple of Poseidon, dating to the 5th century BCE. Dedicated to the mythical god of the sea, the temple poses a stunning sight, standing high on a rocky headland surrounded on three sides by the cobalt waters of the Aegean. This morning we visit the National Archaeological Museum, home to the world’s most significant collections of Greek artifacts. It’s a day steeped in ancient history as we first tour the imposing ruins at Mycenae, a UNESCO site that represented the pinnacle of civilization from the 15th to the 12th centuries BCE. This morning we travel to the port of Metohi, where we board a private boat for the ride to Hydra, the car-free Saronic island where donkeys provide the transportation. After lunch together at a local taverna, we have free time to enjoy this picturesque island as we wish. Late afternoon we return to Nafplion for an evening at leisure.

En route to Athens this morning we stop to see the Corinth Canal, cutting at sea level through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean. We continue on to the Athens airport for the 50-minute flight to Crete, arriving midafternoon in Heraklion, the Cretan capital. After checking in at our hotel, we enjoy an afternoon at leisure; this evening we take a walking tour of the Venetian/Ottoman-influenced town center prior to dinner at a local restaurant.

This morning we visit one of the greatest museums in all of Greece: Heraklion’s Archaeological Museum housing artifacts from 5,500 years of Cretan history, from the Neolithic period to Roman times. We depart this morning by high-speed ferry for Santorini, southernmost of the Cycladic islands. Once believed to have been the legendary lost island of Atlantis, Santorini today attracts both Greeks and visitors alike with its stupendous setting of cubiform whitewashed houses sitting atop the jagged cliffs of a crescent-shaped caldera. Upon arrival we visit a local winery for a tour and tasting then have free time in the town of Firostefani for lunch and to explore on our own.

Today we tour Santorini’s archaeological site of Akrotiri, a Bronze Age Minoan location that was abandoned in the 17th century BCE following a volcanic eruption – whose ash also preserved the excavations that we now see. This afternoon we head to the town of Oia, known for its iconic whitewashed architecture and stunning views.

This morning we encounter Santorini from another perspective, as we embark on a private cruise around the island and its caldera, the flooded volcanic crater that forms Santorini’s half-moon shaped bay. Then we transfer to the airport for the flight to Athens. Tonight we celebrate our Greek odyssey at a farewell dinner.

As we continue our journey south, we visit a cork factory and then arrive late morning at a country estate lush with vineyards, olive groves, and forests of cork oak. Today we encounter this region that launched Portugal’s Age of Discovery, when in the 15th century, explorers went out to sea, sailed along the coast of Africa, and eventually reached the Cape of Good Hope and beyond. Today, we expe­rience one of Ireland’s most popular attractions: the stunning mountain and coastal scenery of the Ring of Kerry, a 110-mile route connecting Dingle, Iveragh, and Beara peninsulas. En route to Nîmes today, we first visit Les Baux, a gem of a medieval village perched atop a rock spur. Today we visit Arles, once part of Roman Gaul and then a clarion of Christianity. We encounter the city’s rich history on our walking tour, which includes a visit to the 1st-century Roman Amphitheater, a UNESCO site; and Place du Forum, setting for Van Gogh’s painting Le Café du Nuit. Today’s tour begins at the beloved Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, overlooking riverside Lyon from its hilltop perch. Our first stop today is in medieval hilltop Pérouges, another of France’s most beautiful villages with its cobblestone streets and byways lined with half-timbered houses. Next, we visit untouristed Dole, boasting a well-preserved historic center and where we enjoy a walking tour. After lunch together, we tour the one-time home of scientist Louis Pasteur. This morning we travel to Beaune, gateway to the Burgundy wine region. We take a leisurely walking tour of this walled town then visit the renowned Hôtel Dieu Museum, part of the Hospices de Beaune complex. One of the finest surviving Renaissance buildings in France, the museum is home to the Beaune Altarpiece (often called The Last Judgement). We embark this morning on a cruise to Isola Bella, the beautiful Borromean island in the middle of Lake Maggiore. Fully occupied by 17th-century Palazzo Borromeo and its extravagantly landscaped gardens, the island offers lovely views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We take a guided tour of the palazzo with its priceless works of fine art and stroll through the flower-decked gardens, and then enjoy lunch together on the nearby Isola dei Pescatori.

This morning, we visit the lovely lakeside town of Orta San Giulio – dubbed “God’s watercolor” by Italian writer Piero Chiara – with its cobblestoned streets, 16th-century town hall, and medieval houses flanking the inviting town square. This morning, we experience this breathtaking coast by sea as we cruise from our hotel to Amalfi Center (weather permitting). Here, we enjoy a brief tour of the region’s largest town and then have lunch on our own. Next, we ascend to mountaintop Ravello, with its spectacular gardens and coastal views.

Our full-day excursion begins in Pompeii, the city frozen in time by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 ce but not excavated until 1748. This morning we board a ferry for the return trip to the mainland then travel to Cape Breton Island, the forested island sitting between the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the North Atlantic. Upon arrival, we tour the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

It’s a day of outstanding scenery as we drive the world-famous Cabot Trail. Named for Venetian explorer Giovanni Caboto (John Cabot) who landed in Atlantic Canada in 1497, this 185-mile route loops around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island, passing through the rugged and beautiful Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Here, steep cliffs repel the crashing surf, river canyons carve out routes to the sea and mountainsides covered in deep green pines provide stunning photo opportunities.

Today we visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the reconstructed fortress that is now a living history museum. We then head to Sydney, Cape Breton’s largest town, where we have free time to explore as we wish before returning to our hotel in Baddeck.

This morning we visit Ecocentro Danaus, a biological reserve focused on conservation, environmental education, and sustainability. We travel today to the “green cathedral” of Monteverde. During our stop for lunch along the way, we speak with a local resident who share stories of how Quakers have influenced the region, including their founding of Monteverde’s biological reserve. This morning we embark on a guided walk through Monteverde’s biological reserve, learning about the amazing biodiversity in this relatively small area. Then we visit the Monteverde Bat Jungle to learn about Costa Rica’s diverse – and important – bat population. This afternoon, we call on a nonprofit handicrafts cooperative dedicated to enhancing the economic and social well-being of local women artists. We dine together at a local restaurant.

We depart by coach this morning for Guanacaste, Costa Rica’s stunning northwest Pacific coastal region. After a stop for lunch, we reach our resort hotel overlooking the Pacific by mid-afternoon.

A float safari on the Tempisque River highlights this morning’s excursion to the Palo Verde region, which is both an extraordinary wetland and also one of the world’s last tropical dry forests. In this unique ecosystem, we can expect to see abundant bird- and wildlife, including monkeys, iguanas, and caimans. After lunch together, we return to our hotel in the mid-afternoon, with the remainder of the day at leisure along one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful Pacific Coast settings.

Arriving in Cuzco today, we stop at the ruins of Sacsayhuamán fortress, a masterpiece of Incan architecture. Then we continue on to the Sacred Valley, a region of Inca sites and Indigenous villages. We visit the colorful town of Pisac before reaching our hotel late afternoon.

We begin our day attending a traditional “Offering to the Earth” ceremony. Next we explore Ollantaytambo, both a living town and site of massive Incan ruins that still inspire wonder. Then we visit the Incan farming town of Chinchero, where residents live much as their ancestors did and where we see a demonstration of Peruvian weaving. Dinner tonight is at our hotel.

This morning we board a train for the 1½-hour journey to Aguas Calientes, where after lunch we travel by bus for Machu Picchu to embark on our first guided visit of the stunning ruins here. Thanks to the small size of our group, we are able to move nimbly through the ruins as we absorb both the beauty and the mystery of this impressive site.

Nestled in the Andes foothills, Quito boasts a well-preserved historic center and many fascinating sites, as we see on our city tour which includes Plaza la Independencia and the 16th-century Monastery of San Francisco. After lunch together, we visit the Middle of the World Monument, allowing us to place a foot in each of the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Today we fly to the island of Baltra and then transfer to Santa Cruz, our island-based home for our Galapagos exploration. We reach our beautiful hotel set on 370 lush, unspoiled, and secluded acres in the highlands within Galapagos National Park in time for lunch. Then we visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to see and learn about the giant Galapagos tortoises.

This morning we embark on our first excursion aboard the Santa Fe, our privately chartered yacht. We set out for North Seymour, a flat, low-lying island with ample opportunities for close encounters with the wildlife on our naturalist-led walk. After lunch, we head back to Santa Cruz island for another nature walk.

Today’s destination is the small in size but rich in flora and fauna: the island of South Plaza. Today we explore Santa Cruz itself, the second largest of the Galapagos islands. We see the giant Galapagos tortoises in their natural habitat; the huge twin craters of Los Gemelos; and Garrapatero, a secluded white-sand beach where we see an abundance of marine and terrestrial wildlife.

This morning we visit Quito’s Botanical Gardens, featuring an orchidarium with more than 1,200 species of orchids; and Iñaquito Market, a colorful riot of fresh produce and spices. On our day cruise through the storied Strait of Magellan today, we have the opportunity to see for ourselves an animal that most people have only seen in captivity: the Magellanic penguin, the two-foot-tall flightless bird that numbers among the millions along the southern tip of South America. We cruise to tiny Magdalena Island, home to a colony of more than 60,000 pairs of penguins that coexist peacefully with cormorants, sea lions, and other species. Tonight we gather for a welcome dinner.

This morning we travel outside the city to historic Fort Bulnes, built in 1843 to cement Chile’s sovereignty over the region. Our tour here includes the interpretive center depicting the human and natural history related to the Strait of Magellan, as well as a scenic viewpoint of the Strait. Returning to Punta Arenas, we have lunch together followed by an afternoon and evening at leisure.

Today we set out by motorcoach for the journey north to Torres del Paine National Park. On the way, we get a close-up view of Patagonian Chile on our excursion to a working estancia (ranch). We visit with the local cowboys who work here and watch a sheepdog exercise to see how these amazing animals perform their important job of herding. Today marks our first full day in Torres del Paine, one of the most unspoiled and beautiful nature preserves on Earth. We spend the day exploring this unparalleled landscape of jagged peaks, virgin forests, ice-blue glaciers, turquoise lakes, rushing rivers, and thunderous waterfalls. We also visit magnificent Lago Grey, which is fed by the glacier of the same name in the Southern Patagonia Ice Field.

Our second day of exploration in the park features Laguna Amarga and Cascada Rio Paine, along with resident wildlife.

At the spot where the Atlantic and Pacific merge, the sheer promontory of Cape Horn rises some 1,400 feet from the roiling waters below. This afternoon we take a guided walk along sheltered Wulaia Bay.

We awaken this morning in Pia Fjord, home of the stunning Pia Glacier. Later we board inflatable Zodiacs and go ashore for an up-close look at the glacier, a tumbling wall of ice that extends from the mountaintops down to sea level. After lunch on board, we drop anchor in a nearby fjord for a shore excursion to Garibaldi Glacier, one of only three glaciers in Patagonia gaining mass. Here we have the opportunity to hike through the Magellanic forest, passing glacial waterfalls and viewpoints…

This morning we cruise through several channels to enter spectacular Agostini Sound, where we see massive glaciers flowing down the mountainside. Later we take inflatable Zodiacs to Águila Glacier, which we approach via an easy walk on the shore of a lagoon.

Early this morning we visit Magdalena Island, home to an immense colony of more than 60,000 pairs of Magellanic penguins. We take some time to observe the penguins and also to visit the lighthouse that guides ships navigating through the Strait of Magellan. Then we arrive in Punta Arenas, where we board our motorcoach for the six-hour journey to Torres del Paine. We reach our lodging early this evening and dine there tonight.

Today we encounter breathtaking Torres del Paine, a 700-square-mile World Biosphere Reserve and one of the most unspoiled and beautiful nature preserves on Earth. We spend the day exploring this unparalleled landscape of jagged peaks, ice-blue glaciers, turquoise lakes, rushing rivers, and thunderous waterfalls. A highlight: our visit to magnificent Lago Grey, site of massive Grey Glacier and of the hotel where we stop for lunch.

We see more of Torres del Paine’s pristine wilderness today, enjoying a box lunch amidst the dramatic scenery. Highlights include visits to the crystalline Amarga Lagoon and the glacial waterfall Cascada Rio Paine. Throughout the day we’re sure to see some of the park’s only permanent residents: 106 species of birds and 26 species of mammals, including the beloved guanaco. We dine together tonight at our hotel.

We travel by coach today to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel in the city center.

We fly today to the Chilean capital, where we enjoy a city tour. Tonight we have dinner together at our hotel.

Today we encounter the old port of Valparaiso, a one-time fishing village and now Chile’s third-largest city and cultural heart. Next we visit a local winery for a private tour and tasting. Tonight we celebrate our adventure at a farewell dinner at a local Santiago restaurant.

This morning we pay a visit to the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, known for its art and artifacts from Chile and across the Americas. This afternoon is at leisure to explore on our own or relax. Then we transfer to the airport for our overnight flights to the U.S.

We arrive in the U.S. this morning and connect with our return flights home.

We depart today for the Peruvian capital. Upon arrival we transfer directly to our hotel.

After spending the morning at leisure, we meet our Odysseys Unlim­ited Tour Director and fellow travelers at this afternoon’s briefing about the journey ahead, then embark on a tour of colonial Lima. A highlight is our visit to treasured Casa de Aliaga, one of the oldest homes in Lima (c. 1535), with a rich architectural heritage and a collection of Peruvian art and artifacts. This morning we transfer to the airport for the brief flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival we visit the sacred sites of Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo, then continue on to the beautiful Sacred Valley, a region of Inca sites and indigenous villages. We stop in the colorful town of Pisac before reaching our hotel midafternoon.

This morning we attend a traditional ceremony, “Offering to the Earth,” and then set out for Ollantaytambo, a living town and site of massive Incan ruins dating to the 15th century that still inspire wonder today. After touring here we continue on to the town of Chinchero, set on a broad plateau presided over by a snowcapped mountain. Early this morning we board a train for the 1½-hour journey to Aguas Calientes, where after lunch we board a bus for Machu Picchu and our first guided visit of the stunning “Lost City of the Incas.” Thanks to its small size, our group will move nimbly through the ruins and have the leisure to absorb the beauty and mystery of this haunting UNESCO World Heritage site. Mid-afternoon we return to Aguas Calientes and our hotel, with time at leisure before dinner together tonight.

This morning before the crowds of day-trippers arrive, we take our second guided tour of Machu Picchu, when the early morning sun bathes the stones in an evocative light. After lunch in Aguas Calientes, we return to Cuzco, arriving early evening. Dinner tonight is on our own.

After a morning at leisure, we set out on a tour of the archaeological hub of the Americas, the continent’s oldest continuously inhabited city, and UNESCO World Heritage site. Dynamic and historic, Cuzco bears the marks of its Inca and Spanish forebears. We stop at the ruins of Sacsayhuamán, a masterpiece of Incan architecture, then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

This morning we depart for the day-long journey by coach to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. As we travel through the rugged snowcapped Andes dotted with small villages and herds of llama and alpaca, we make several stops along the way, beginning with Andahuaylillas, an attractive village known for its lovely 17th-century church. We spend the day exploring the fascinating life of Lake Titicaca, South America’s largest lake and, at 12,500 feet above sea level, among the world’s highest navigable lakes. By boat, we visit the Floating Islands of Los Uros, where the top-hatted Uros people live on “islands” made of the reeds that grow in the lake’s shallows; in fact, the Uros rely on these reeds for their boats, the small huts in which they live, household items, and the handcrafts they sell to visitors. We meet our fellow travelers today as we embark on a tour of the Soweto district of Johannesburg. Here we see the home of former Archbishop Desmond Tutu; visit Nelson Mandela’s former house, which is now a museum; and tour the moving Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, where we learn more about apartheid and the Soweto uprising of 1976. We fly today to Victoria Falls and our lodge. This afternoon we see for ourselves the thundering falls, first “discovered” by David Livingstone and claimed for Queen Victoria in 1855. With its 300-­foot-deep gorge and soaking spray, “Vic” Falls is a wonder of the natural world, straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This morning we embark on a game drive to spot the elusive – and critically endangered – black rhino. Late this afternoon, we enjoy a “Sundowner” dinner cruise on the Zambezi where we see wildlife on shore and in the water.

After a morning visit to Victoria Falls town and a local grade school, this afternoon is at leisure to relax at our lodge. Tonight we hear a fascinating guest speaker on “The Story of David Livingstone,” followed by dinner together.

This morning we visit a nearby school then travel two hours by motorcoach to Botswana and Chobe National Park, boasting one of the largest concentrations of game in all of Africa. After settling in and enjoying lunch at our lodge, this afternoon we embark on a game-viewing boat safari on the Chobe River, where we may see hippos, crocs, and some of the park’s 450 species of birds (including the sacred ibis, carmine bee-eaters, fish eagles, and kingfishers). We dine tonight at our lodge.

Known for its diverse terrain that attracts an exceptional array of wildlife – including the world’s largest elephant population (some 120,000), along with zebras, lions, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes, and a wide variety of birds – Chobe covers 4,517 square miles of protected parkland. We see a portion of this natural wonder on our early morning game drive and on this afternoon’s boat safari. And this evening, perhaps we’ll see one of the sublime sunsets for which Chobe is known.

We’re settling into a comfortable routine, with early morning and late afternoon game drives. In between game-viewing activities, we’re at leisure to enjoy the amenities of our lodge on the banks of the Chobe River, adjacent to the park itself.

This morning we fly to South Luangwa National Park. Here in one of Africa’s last stretches of pristine wilderness, we have the chance to get closer to the animals than anywhere else. Late this afternoon we engage in some of the lodge’s game-viewing activities, including open-vehicle game drives and walking safaris, the latter of which originated in South Luangwa.

From our lodge situated inside the 3,500-square-mile national park and just a short drive from the main entrance, we embark on morning and evening game-viewing excursions today. Thanks to its remote location, South Luangwa is protected from mass tourism and boasts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of game. Among the fauna living here: lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, wild dogs, and antelopes. We also may catch some special sights, such as Zambia’s…

We have another day to savor life in the bush and engage in morning and evening game-viewing activities. Set amidst a grove of ebony and mahogany trees, our 18-chalet lodge overlooks two lagoons that attract a steady stream of crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and other animals, which we can watch from lodge’s open deck. Tonight we celebrate our wildlife adventure at a farewell dinner.

We travel by light aircraft today to Lusaka, Zambia’s capital, where we have hotel day rooms until our departure this evening for the airport and our overnight flight to the U.S.
